Thanksgiving means something different for everyone, especially when it comes to what is on the table. As Nov. 27 gets closer and the weather starts feeling chilly, Granite Hills fills up with all kinds of anticipation for the holiday.
Students and staff all have that one dish they look forward to each year, so we decided to ask: What is your ideal Thanksgiving meal you’re looking forward to this year?

“What I look forward to the most is probably the dessert. Oh, pumpkin pie is what I think and like the most.” – Evelyn Mosqueda (12th grade).

“I normally really enjoy the enchiladas for Thanksgiving, so that is definitely something that I look forward to eating.” – Aime Tapia (AP Secretary)

“What I look forward to this Thanksgiving is the ham, especially with pineapple. That is really good. This would definitely be my most favorite.” – Alissa Villagomez (12th grade)

“Thinking about it, I enjoy the cheesy scalloped potatoes for Thanksgiving, so that is what would be my favorite meal for Thanksgiving.” – Norma Aguirre (Counselor)

“Overall, I enjoy the dessert. I always have yams for dessert. My aunt puts marshmallows in them, or even plain, they are good.” – Angelica Carmona (Counselor)

“My favorite dish would be homemade cranberry sauce, the one you get to boil. You put that on some turkey. Oh, I also like the mashed potatoes, the real ones, not the fake ones.” – Bud Luther (Athletic Director)

“My favorite Thanksgiving dish is probably tamales. I do not like the traditional Thanksgiving meals.” – Yvette Flores (Comp Ed Secretary)
Granite Hills is full of different Thanksgiving traditions, and these answers show how everyone has something special they look forward to. From tamales to pumpkin pie, every Grizzly has a meal that makes the holiday feel like home. No matter what you eat, the best part is sharing it with the people you care about. We hope everyone has a warm and happy Thanksgiving filled with all their favorite meals!
