Jose Nava Apolonio, Senior Staff Writer
Born and raised in Porterville, Calif., Jose is a senior at Granite Hills High School as a member of the Computer Operations and Development Education (CODE) Pathway. He has been the Vice President of the Class of 2025 for two terms and just recently won his third term. He is a part of the Porterville Youth Commission, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and dedication to Granite Hills and the community. His plans after high school are to go to Porterville Community College to become a high school teacher and continue working at his local Target. At the age of 18 years old, Jose has had a profound impact on Granite Hills High School and his community. He is the driving force behind the resurgence of the Grizzly Gazette. It was his actions of starting a petition and bringing awareness of a need for a school newspaper to our principal Mr. Bowker that led to a journalism program being brought back to Granite Hills. He is dedicated to bringing the Grizzly Gazette to its former glory.
Jose loves his family, friends, his dog, Mylo, and his cat Michi. He loves listening to music. His favorite artists, at the moment, are The Weeknd, The Marias, Childish Gambino, and Frank Ocean, adding a personal touch to his vibrant personality. Jose is grateful for everyone and every opportunity that has shaped him and looks forward to what lies ahead.
