Happy World Teacher Day

October celebrates World Teacher Day. World Teacher Day is an annual celebration on Oct.5 to recognize teachers’ contributions to education and development. Don’t forget to thank all your teachers for their hard work and for making a difference in our education.

Granite Hills students share who their favorite teachers are and why: 

“My favorite teacher is Mr. Holt because he encourages me to try harder and also motivates me to keep my grades up.” – Brianna Guillen

“My favorite teacher is Mr. De La Pena because his personality is really bright and he hypes everyone up. I feel like he really is one of the best teachers you can have at Granite Hills High School.” – Sarah Leon

“My favorite teacher is Ms. Chavez by far. I wouldn’t consider her as a teacher, but more so a mentor who has given me so many opportunities. She has created a little home in her classroom that I feel safe in. She always pushes me to be better, and I think of her for that.”  – Altritha Joseph

“My favorite teacher is Mrs. Mendoza since I can always go to her classroom and talk to her when I need advice. She is also always smiling when she greets students into her classroom and instantly gives a welcoming feeling.” – Anayeli Santos Suarez

“I would say my favorite teacher is Ms. Cisneros. Even though she is a new teacher, she teaches very well and has such a kind personality.” – Ysaura Ramos

“Mr. Milligan is my favorite teacher because he is a good person and very good at teaching how to play the guitar. Heś always patient and explains everything step by step so everyone can learn. I like how he makes the class fun and motivates us to practice more. Thanks to him, playing guitar feels easy and makes me want to keep learning every day.” – Joshua Silva

“My favorite teacher at Granite Hills High School is Coach Luther. Coach Luther is not just my physical education teacher, but he is my basketball coach as well. I see him as my favorite teacher because he has pushed and motivated me to become better on and off the court.” – Andres Sanchez 

“My favorite teacher is Mr. Marquez because he is a very chill guy, he’s funny, he always makes good jokes, and he always encourages me to do well in his classes. That is why he is my favorite teacher.” – Jesus Vazquez

“My favorite teacher is Ms. Ruiz. She made learning math super fun for me, and I always looked forward to her class. I sadly do not have her as a teacher anymore, but when I see her, I make sure to say hello to the nicest and best teacher on campus.” – Bryan Morales

“My favorite teacher is Mr. Bravo because he is a very chill teacher. I like the way he teaches and how he explains everything, and I’m able to have a good conversation with him without any judgment.” – Armando Valdez
