Giving himself only one month to record 10 songs while on tour in Europe, Tyler, the Creator wanted a no-strings-attached album, no press, no interviews, no hints, all organic.
Big Poe (feat. Sk8brd)
Big Poe is the song that sets the tone for the entire album. Tyler, the Creator starts the song with the attributes he wanted his audience to feel while listening to the lyrics “Number one body movement no sitting still.” This song was an amazing start to the album.
Sugar On My Tongue
Sugar On My Tongue is one of the most-streamed songs, and with good reason. This song is such an amazing upbeat song that just makes you want to dance. The popularity of the song is evident with over 86 million streams on Spotify and over 337,400 uses of the sound on TikTok of people dancing to the opening lyrics.
Sucka Free
Sucka Free is considered a more chill song in the album, meant to be just a song to vibe to. Sucka Free, without doubt, is one of the best songs in the album as it’s a very calm song to relax while doing homework, thrifting, cleaning, etc.
Mommanem
Mommanem is the shortest song in the album at one minute, 15 seconds. One of the lesser-streamed songs on the album, the song has no climax or catchy rhythm. However, it is seen as a build-up song for the next song, which transitions into each other very well.
Stop Playing With Me
Stop Playing With Me is a very energetic song that could get anyone dancing. One can really appreciate how energetic Tyler the Creator is throughout the whole song. Something that could make the song even better is if it had a feature from another artist to give it more definition.
Ring Ring Ring
Ring Ring Ring is a personal favorite song of the whole album. It’s a very relaxed but energetic song to listen to. Ring Ring Ring has over 58 million streams on Spotify and over 115,600 uses on TikTok. This song is definitely one of the better songs on the album.
Don’t Tap That Glass / Tweakin’
Don’t Tap That Glass / Tweakin’ is seen as two songs in one, as halfway through the song, everything from the tempo, the rhythm, and beats change, making two different types of energy in one song. This song is definitely in my top three favorites of the album as it’s the longest song in the album at 3 minutes, 42 seconds.
Don’t You Worry My Baby (feat.Madison McFerrin)
Don’t You Worry My Baby is definitely one of the more calm songs of the album. As we get further into the album, the tempo gets slower. The feature on this song by Madison McFerrin is also enjoyable. Her vocals fit the theme of the song perfectly.
I’ll Take Care of You (feat. Yebba)
I’ll Take Care of You is another song in my top three of this album. From the instrumentals to the vocals, everything clicks very well together. With over 43 million streams on Spotify, it is also a popular listen.
Tell Me What It Is
Tell Me What It Is is the closing song of the album, and without a doubt, one of the best closers out of all Tyler, the Creator albums. It’s a very energetic but calm song reflecting on his life.
This album was amazing, from the instrumentals to the features, all the way to the production. If you are looking for a high-energy album, I would highly recommend “Don’t Tap The Glass”. I would rate this album an overall 8.5/10.
