Stadium lights have dimmed, the crowd has gone silent, and Sunday night football is all just a memory for now. The ending of the NFL season always brings emptiness into people’s Sunday routines. People think there’s nothing else to do on Sundays. Here are some ideas you may enjoy on Sundays now that your favorite football team is no longer letting you down.
1. GO TO CHURCH
In church, you will gaze upon people finding the spiritual direction. If you feel like you don’t belong there, each individual will make you feel like you belong there. Eventually, you will build a bond with everyone there and the Lord.
2. FRIENDS AND FAMILY TIME
Gather friends and family together and have a fun time together. You may also meet up with people you haven’t spoken to in a while and catch up. Some fun places to go may be a dining out, brunch, the park, or maybe just being in the backyard.
3. RESET SUNDAY
On Sunday, you may get organized and get ready for the week. You can do this by cleaning your room, washing clothes, showering, etc. Once you finish doing your reset you can just relax for the rest of the day or catch up on things needed.
4. RELAX
You may be tired and drained from the week. You have many things rushing through your mind, and you’re stressed. You can have the day to yourself and relax. Relaxing doesn’t always mean lying in bed. You can read a book, listen to music, or just do small activities that you enjoy at home.
5. LET’S GO SHOPPING
In Porterville, we don’t have many options, but Tulare and Visalia do. The Visalia Mall is about 45-50 minutes away. You can always have a good time at the mall. Tulare has the Tulare Outlets which are about 40 minutes away. You don’t always have to buy something. You can just look around.
6. GO TO THE MOVIES
Going to the movie theater with friends or family is fun. Buy your movie tickets, grab your popcorn, your snack of choice, and enjoy your movie. There are only a few movies that are good but we all have different tastes in movies. The good movies usually come out during the summer.
7. NATIONAL PARKS
At the National Parks, there are many activities to do. Going on walks or runs is a fun activity to do at the park. Take your dog for a walk or grab a friend and catch up on life while doing a short hike.
8. LOOK FOR COMMUNITY EVENTS
Usually, as a holiday heads its way towards us, there are many events for people to attend. For example, there may be car cruises, car shows, or sometimes there are just events where you and your friends or family can go. At the parks, they sometimes have events for different holidays.
9. EAT AT A LOCAL RESTAURANT
There are many restaurants to choose from. Go to your favorite restaurant with your family or friends and enjoy your meal. You may even go out to a restaurant you’ve never tried before and give it a review. Giving food honest reviews is fun to do.
10. DAY TRIPS
You can travel to the beach, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, etc. Just enjoy your day even if your trip is a few hours away. Go to places you’ve never been to before. Live life to the fullest. The beauty of living in Porterville is you are 3-4 hours away from a variety of fun options.
