Music is one of the main things most people love to listen to when carrying out their daily tasks. Whether it be commuting on a drive, studying and doing homework, or sitting down and taking the time to listen, music is a huge part of a lot of people’s lives.
This year, we can expect tons of releases from various artists across different genres. Here are some upcoming releases:
Bad Bunny – Debi Tirar Mas Fotos

Over the span of a year, Bad Bunny has been working on his latest album that he recently released, receiving critical acclaim from many fans and music critics across the internet. The first single, “El Club”, was officially released on December 5, 2024. Bad Bunny explains this album was his most personal yet. Along with the mindset of making music that was easy and enjoyable to listen to. Benito says this album was easily his favorite album he has released to date. This music was deeply produced in Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny’s home country.
Mac Miller – Balloonerism

After the release of his first posthumous album, ‘Circles’, The Mac Miller Estate would share more to come later. Having recorded the whole album between 2013-2014, the estate decided to release this album now. Mac intended to release it eventually before his untimely passing in 2018 and the release of his 2014 mixtape ‘Faces.’ For new listeners of Mac, now would be a great time to get into a deeper dive into his past discography.
The Weeknd – Hurry Up Tomorrow

The number one artist on the Spotify charts by monthly listeners returns this year. This album marks the latest and last chapter in The Weeknd’s musical career. On September 7, 2024, The Weeknd released “Dancing In The Flames”, serving as the lead single for this album. This track was also used in a commercial for Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max. The Weeknd plans on playing the entire album on January 25 in front of a live audience at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Accompanying the album, The Weeknd will share a movie coming to theatres later this year. The film ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ is directed by Trey Edward Shults and stars Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye, Jenna Ortega, and Barry Keoghan.
Playboi Carti – I AM MUSIC

After a long 2024, Playboi Carti has continued to tease his long-awaited album for almost five years now. He stated the album would be released eventually in 2024 with his singles and many appearances in the public eye. The album was first announced in late 2023. Carti has also performed some songs from the album at the hip-hop festival, Rolling Loud Miami, where fans finally got to hear some new music. His rollout has contained many pictures of himself and surprise releases of singles only available on YouTube. However, one single was officially released on streaming platforms, “ALL RED”, is the lead single off the album.
Lana Del Rey – The Right Person Will Stay

Lana Del Rey announced her new album later in 2024. While no single has yet been released, Lana did announce on her Instagram page that the album had a date to be released. Not much has been revealed about this album besides that it will be a country-focused piece of art.
Lady Gaga – To be announced

Icon Lady Gaga took the internet by storm with the single, “Die With A Smile”, featuring pop legend Bruno Mars. It seemed like everywhere you went, this song was playing; you were not even safe on your own phone. Gaga’s new album will be her seventh studio album. Expect to see some more pop hits.
Taylor Swift – Reputation (Taylor’s Version)

Despite working through challenging efforts to get her music the way she wanted, Taylor Swift came up with an idea to ensure this. In an effort to regain ownership of her own work, she decided to re-record her first six albums. Along with these new recordings, fans can also expect vaulted tracks that were never released initially. Previous re-recordings have been getting released since 2021. Reputation was initially released in 2017 and is the next to receive a brand-new finish. So when this work eventually gets released Taylor’s way, be sure to support her.
A$AP Rocky – Don’t Be Dumb

The fourth long-awaited studio album by hip-hop artist A$AP Rocky once again is delayed into the new year. ‘Testing’ was the last album released by him and dropped in 2018. Ending the wait would mean a 7-year-long hiatus from releasing an album would come to a halt. The album was announced to come in earlier seasons but eventually came and went. Said to be delayed due to sample clearance issues, fans could hope to finally get the album they have been waiting for.
Kanye West – Bully

Paying homage to the 2001 film, BULLY, Ye plans to release an album soon going back to his roots. With the snippets that have surfaced, Ye shows off his soul-sampling skills that blew him up in the early 2000s. The first single, “Beauty and the Beast”, was released as a video on Apple Music exclusively. However, after a few weeks, it was taken down. He previewed two songs during his shows in China and Japan last year. Pre-orders also went live a couple of months ago on his website.
Moving onto some artists who are long overdue for a release, these next few artists should hopefully prepare for release sometime this year.
Frank Ocean
Frank Ocean last released an album in 2016 with his groundbreaking release ‘Blond.’ Since then he has not done much in the public eye. Although he has released a few singles after his release, Frank has still yet to let fans know any knowledge of any new music. His last major public appearance was at a previous Coachella Festival where he was set to perform and headline. Frank only showed up for one week out of the two scheduled weeks. Leaving fans disappointed and upset. The truth is, only Frank knows when he’s dropping an album, we might not ever know.
Rihanna
Another artist who last released an album in 2016, Rihanna, released her album ‘ANTI.’ Since her last release she has worked on the 2022 Marvel movie, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, soundtrack. She also gave the public a live performance at the Super Bowl during halftime, where she gave a memorable performance of all of her smash pop hits. The most bizarre thing about it was that she performed all while she was pregnant with her child. Hopefully, this performance meant something. Hopefully meaning a new album will be released sometime in the near future.
Joji
Ex-comedic YouTube star Joji ventured off into the music business after retiring from making content on YouTube. Since then, he has made a name for himself and started to be taken seriously as an artist. His last release, ‘SMITHEREENS’, was released in 2022. Spanning over a career of four studio albums so far, fans could only wonder and wait until a new release to be announced.
