Granite Hills students had three full weeks of winter break to re-energize their batteries for the second semester. We asked them how they spent their downtime and this is what they had to say.
“I enjoyed being able to decompress after the stressful season, and playing Fortnite all day.” – Natalie Hernandez
“Over the winter break, I had a lot of time to spend time with family and friends, including going out on picnics every week with friends. I also had many family get-togethers to celebrate the holidays. I was able to spend some quality time every day practicing for the upcoming tennis season, not just to better myself but also to improve my team as a whole. shout-out to Coach Reagan and Coach Luci for taking time out for their winter break to help better our team.” – Jose Navarro
“I like no stress, spending time with friends and family, and eating Mexican food.” – Julissa Lopez
“Being around family, my grandkids, my kids. Cooking with them, making tamales, cookies, and having a blast with them. I get to spend time with them without feeling rushed.” – Mrs. Keith
“Spending time with my friends and family is the best part about Christmas breaks. I was able to go to Pismo Beach this break.” – Mrs. Verduzco
“The best thing about Christmas break was being able to condition with my tennis team. It was amazing seeing the turnout with at least 4+ guys coming every day consistently. It was so much fun as we all got together, played some great tennis during cool weather, and got more fit as a team.” – Anthony Contreras
“We went to our best friend Mya Badgett’s quince and hung out with all of our friends. And the day before the quince it was Vi’s birthday and so we hung out and we went to Target and to dinner at Applebees.” – Tristin Tuese and Vi Nguyen
“I worked at the Porterville Library and I also went to Morro Bay, ate a lot of Taco Bell and I stayed lit.” – Kendall Miller
