The Chinese Food Factory is a local restaurant in Porterville, located at 356 W. Olive Avenue, right next to Porterville High School. It’s the perfect spot for students fresh out of class to grab a refreshing drink or a quick bite.
The restaurant is comforting, as the sunlight shines through the windows, giving a golden-hour glow. Just as you walk in, the workers greet you with a warm welcome.
They have a display of donuts when you walk in, and another entrance features a display of different food. The service is good, and the employees are very helpful with any questions a customer may have.
The food that was presented was teriyaki chicken, orange chicken with rice on the side, a glazed donut, and horchata boba.
The orange chicken was coated in a sweet pineapple flavor, the teriyaki chicken was more of a juicy meat and had juicy broccoli, but was not sweetened like the orange chicken. The rice on the side was a bit dry, but it was more of a fried rice because the rice was brown and with different small vegetables in it.
The boba had cinnamon whipped cream, a sweetened rice flavor, and boba at the bottom of the drink. The donut had a glazed, sweet topping.
The drinks they serve are sweet and plentiful; they have a big variety to choose from. The different kinds of drinks they sell are Thai tea, taro milk tea, horchata, peaches n’ cream, and more.
Don’t know what to order? Don’t worry. The workers are extremely patient with their customers, so there isn’t much of a need to worry because they give you time to pick out a drink.
They have plenty of varieties of sweets. Some examples are old-fashioned glazed donuts, chocolate glazed, crumb glazed, and glazed twist.
Donuts aren’t the only type of desserts they sell; they also sell croissants, bagels, and muffins.
The prices aren’t too expensive, and the food is sweet and savory.
The Chinese Food Factory is open throughout the week except on Sundays. They are open as early as 5 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
