Meet Daniel Rendon, a dedicated and ambitious freshman at Granite Hills.
Originally born in San Joaquin, Rendon moved down to Los Angeles in his early childhood before settling in Porterville.
At 15 years old, Rendon is already making his mark both academically and athletically.
He is a straight-A student who is highly involved in AVID. AVID has helped Rendon plan for his academic journey by participating in field trips.
Rendon is also a passionate soccer player who has been playing since he was five and now plays for Granite Hills. Leonel Messi is not only his favorite soccer player but also a huge inspiration in his life.
However, soccer is not his only athletic pursuit. Rendon also plays water polo and is committed to playing all four years of high school.
Since starting high school, he has picked up on yet another skill, playing the guitar excellently. While he’s not in any clubs yet, he hopes to join ASB to become more involved in school activities.
Other than sports and music, Rendon enjoys gaming, particularly Call of Duty and Fortnite.
His biggest role model in life is his father, whose sacrifices have shaped Rendon’s determination. Something unique about Rendon is that it’s very easy for him to maintain a 4.0 GPA, even with time management issues and a rough sleeping schedule.
Rendon’s favorite teacher is Mr. Williams because of his passion for teaching and the dedication he has for his job.
On weekends, he likes to unwind, relax, and occasionally go out to party with friends. Looking ahead, he plans on attending the University of Chicago, where he hopes to play soccer while studying to become an architect.
Rendon’s personal goal is to become a professional soccer player, a goal he is determined to achieve through hard work and endurance.
Rendon lives by the quote, “Don’t take life too seriously, just live in the moment.”
If there’s one thing he wants to be remembered for, it’s being a social and outgoing person and someone who leaves a positive impact wherever he goes.
