Grizzlies spread love on National Boyfriend’s Day

Each year on Oct. 3, couples across the country take time out of their day to post and value their boyfriends for National Boyfriend’s Day.

This day acknowledges significant others who have a cherished spot in their partners’ hearts which can be appreciated in posts with tags like #NationalBoyfriend’sDay and #ILoveMyBoyfriend. Tags like this always trend on platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, making it impossible to hide from the love being spread throughout the country.

Don’t forget to devote Oct. 3 to your boyfriend to express your affection and admiration, strengthening the bond you share.

Now let’s hear from our single male Grizzlies on why they would be a great boyfriend and deserve to be appreciated on the next National Boyfriend’s Day.

Esmeralda Ceballos Martinez, who goes by her nickname Lala Martinez, is a senior at Granite Hills High School. Born and raised in North Carolina, Lala loves to read sad romance novels and young adult literature. She loves any movie that can make her sob. Some of her favorites include South Paw, The Hate U Give, Queen and Slim, Brokeback Mountain, and The Notebook. She adores her cat Lana who she can nap with for hours and hours. Her favorite person in the whole wide world is her mother, who is her biggest supporter. Lala loves all genres of music. She has been described as a person who "listens to everything." Some of her favorite artists are Zach Bryan, Pierce the Veil, Gigi Perez, WILLOW, J. Cole, Maluma, along with Russian and Arabic music artists. Although Lala had to let go of being on the Grizzly cross country team due to her job, she continued her love of running on her own. Her favorite place to eat is Chipotle, but enjoys trying new places with her best friend, Karla Mendoza, who is also a member of Granite Hills' Grizzly Gazette. Lala's dream job is to be a stay-at-home mother, but will study to become a high school English teacher. She would also love to volunteer at animal shelters because her love for animals is out of this world. Her favorite place is her home, more specifically her room. She is so excited for what is in store for her senior year.
